Ovation Travel Group acquires UK based Chartwell Travel
Travel management firm Ovation Travel Group is expanding its presence in the UK with the acquisition of Chartwell Travel Limited.
The deal represents Ovation’s first wholly-owned location outside the US.
Chartwell Travel will serve as Ovation’s main office for luxury leisure and corporate independent travel advisors in the UK.
Chartwell’s varied client base includes major entertainment, film, television and news production companies.
"We are extremely excited about the opportunities this acquisition brings. Chartwell has been delivering outstanding service for over 25 years," said Paul Metselaar, chairman and CEO of Ovation.
To support the integration Ovation has appointed industry veteran Tina Rose as managing director to oversee Ovation’s growth strategy in the UK.
Rose was most recently at Protravel International where she spent 12 years.
"This combination will grow our community of travel professionals with improved economics and technology delivering even greater results for our clients and industry partners," Rose said.
A BCD Travel affiliated firm, Ovation is one of largest independently owned travel companies in the US and is present in more than 30 US locations.
