OzJet gains CASA approval
Reports this morning suggest that fledgling airline OzJet will announce the granting of the Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) any day now. According to a CASA spokesman, everything on the test flight went well and the certificate could be issued as early as tomorrow.
Timing of the announcement would appear to be the issue for OzJet with Qantas and Airbus set to monopolise aviation publicity over the coming week. At any rate, watch out for a flurry of activity once the announcement is made, as the airline ramps up its campaign to woo business class travellers and those who would like to experience the type of service normally reserved for those at the pointy end of the plane.
It is expected that the first flights will commence within three weeks of the announcement.
