Partnership for more authentic italy tourism
Legambiente and FindYourItaly enter a partnership to promote a more authentic Italy
Tourists to Italy will now have a new opportunity to discover sustainable facilities and authentic travel routes in Italy.
Thanks to the partnership signed between Legambiente, the largest environmental organization in Italy, and FindYourItaly, a tour operator specialized in the development and promotion of little known Italian places.
The two organizations share a committment to promoting the Italian territory and the various forms of sustainable tourism; Legambiente through its eco-label, TurismoBellezzaNatura, which guarantees the sustainability efforts of hundreds of business accommodation throughout Italy. FindYourItaly through its day to day operations, from the selection of its "buddies" (people who propose experiences to travelers) to the services included in its holiday packages.
"Throughout our country, on the mainland and on the islands", says Rossella Muroni, General Director of Legambiente, "there is such natural and cultural wealth, unknown even to Italians."
"The large tour operators don’t include those areas in their itineraries, yet they are ideal vacation spots for foreign travelers interested in a more genuine and less stereotypical Italy. Some districts offer an incredible variety of landscapes, nature, cultural events, sports and so on"
"You can choose to be an artist for a day in the hills of Monferrato, to learn restoration techniques and participate in a truffle hunt, or to visit the village of Morigerati in Cilento, with its interesting museum of civilization. You can become a tarantella dancer or learn our musical traditions…"
"Together with FindYourItaly, we want to give visibility to these areas and the people who work there" added Ms. Muroni.
The Waldensian and Bergamo Valleys, the shores of Comacchio and Ravenna, the Rieti Basin and the regions of Garfagnana, Cilento, Locris and the Marsi are just a few examples of the destinations proposed by FindYourItaly. The agency uses the help of "Buddies": Italians with a strong sense of hospitality, offering their knowledge, tips and stories through FindYouritaly’s blog to help tourists create tailor-made holidays.
