Passenger arrested for mid-flight bomb threat
A man was arrested and is facing charges after a disturbance on an easyJet flight to Scotland.
During the flight from London Luton Airport to Glasgow the man protested President Donald Trump’s visit to Scotland.
He shouted ‘death to Trump’ and claimed he had a bomb.
The incident was caught on video.
The man was arrested and made a first appearance in court in Paisley.
Video footage showed another passenger holding him down as other passengers assisted to subdue him.
The 41-year-old man claimed he ‘wanted to send a message to Trump.’ Who arrived in Scotland a few days ago.
Police Scotland said officers boarded the plane after landing and took him into custody.
“At this time, we believe the incident was contained and that nobody else was involved,” police.
“We are aware of videos circulating online and these are being assessed by counter-terrorism officers.”
“EasyJet’s crew are trained to assess all situations and act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other customers is not compromised,” the airline said.
