Passenger flees police via plane’s emergency exit
A passenger made a Hollywood style exit from a just landed plane to escape arrest from waiting police officers.
The 44-year-old noticed police were waiting at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport after touching down from Orlando on a Sun Country Airlines flight.
As other passengers were deplaning, he opened an emergency exit door and jumped on to the tarmac.
He then ran out of sight.
He managed to evade police and airport security for about 30 minutes.
He was eventually found hiding inside an airport food service truck, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Airports Commission said.
He was then taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was booked into the Hennepin County jail.
The initial arrest warrant was for violating a restraining order and outstanding drug charges.
The incident happened late at night and no airport operations were impacted.
