Pegasus signs new agreement
The Dallas-based Pegasus Solutions Inc. announced an agreement with the Travel Management Alliance (TMA), a collection of nine independently owned travel agencies along the eastern coast of the US.
“The TMA contract accurately portrays Pegasus’ commitment to building and enhancing relationships with travel agencies across our various service lines,” Bob Boles, executive vice president and sales and marketing, said at the National Business Travel Association’s conference in Orlando, Florida.
The move gives TMA agencies and their corporate clients access to discounted rates at thousands of independent hotels across the world, according to Mr Boles.
The Utell by Pegasus service includes the Selections program, which Mr Boles says makes it easier for travel agents to direct clients to appropriate hotels. Selections segments hotels into well-defined categories that even novice agents can quickly use.
Previously, Pegasus announced that its Utell by Pegasus member hotels are among the first properties to utilize Lanyon’s latest hotel RFP technology. Lanyon is said to eliminate significant time from the RFP process by joining all relevant data and processes together in one view.
Mr Boles said Pegasus customers make up a significant number of travel agencies around the world, including the ten largest US-based travel agencies. More than 1,000 Web sites/services have their hotel reservations powered by Pegasus.
New technology is helping hotels inch towards of their major goals: single source bookings, said Mr Boles.
