PLAY announces first Glasgow flights
Iceland low-cost airline PLAY will launch Glasgow flights in May.
The route between Glasgow International and Iceland’s Keflavik airport marks the airline’s first Scottish route.
Ticket sales are now open at www.flyplay.com.
Glasgow flights launch on 26 May 2023 and offer US connections via Keflavik.
PLAY’s offers four US destinations: New York Stewart, Boston, Baltimore/Washington and Washington Dulles and to Toronto, Canada from June.
Flights between Glasgow and Keflavik start from £69 one way, with US flights starting at £169.
PLAY will operate four flights per week over the summer months.
The airline will use an Airbus A320neo on the Glasgow route.
CEO Birgir Jónsson said: “In January 2023, Brits made up the largest percentage of tourists to Iceland”.
In February 2023, PLAY carried 63,949 passengers at a load factor of 76.9%.
PLAY’s routes to and from Paris and London had an impressive load factor of over 90% in February.
