P&O Unveils 2006/07 Season

P&O Cruises has unleashed a record 198 cruises for sale in its latest brochure, featuring sailings through to April 2007 on its three ships – Pacific Sun, Pacific Sky and Pacific Star.

The brochure is also offering a record low early booking discount of 35 per cent, bringing fares down to $955 per person for a seven-night cruise.

Launching the brochure, P&O Cruises Australia Managing Director Gavin Smith said the upcoming season was set to be the most exciting yet for the company.

“We have Pacific Sun sailing from Sydney, Pacific Sky sailing from Melbourne for a second season, as well as Singapore and New Zealand, and our latest addition Pacific Star cruising from Brisbane and New Zealand,” Mr Smith said.

The new brochure includes 48 new cruises just released for sale between November 2006 and April 2007, as well as deals on upcoming sailings from December 2005 through to next October.

Mr Smith said the company’s three-ship fleet meant it could now offer a greater range of holidays.

“One in five sailings over the 2006/07 summer season features a new itinerary, with passengers able to choose from 39 different ports of call,” Mr Smith said.

“This is far and away our biggest ever range of holidays with 198 cruises on offer in this brochure, compared to 136 cruises in our previous program. Combine this range with our amazing new price-breaker fares and the hardest decision passengers will have to make is which cruise to book.”

A host of destinations feature in the latest program including New Caledonia, Fiji, Vanuatu, Loyalty Islands, New Zealand cities and natural attractions, Asian ports such as Koh Samui, Bangkok, Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Australian calls to Tasmania, tropical north Queensland and Western Australian en-route to Asia.

Fares on offer include:

·        $955 per person for a 7-night tropical north Queensland cruise calling at the Whitsundays, Cairns, Port Douglas and Willis Island on Pacific Star, departing Brisbane on selected dates between February 2006 and April 2007*

·        $1657 per person for a 13-night South Pacific cruise to New Caledonia, Fiji, Vanuatu and the Loyalty Islands on Pacific Sun, departing Sydney on November 10, 2006*

·        $724 per person for a 5-night cruise to Tasmania visiting Burnie, Port Arthur and Hobart on Pacific Sky, departing Melbourne on February 12, 2007*
