Police appeal for witnesses after armed robbery at travel agency
Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery at a Co-operative Travel store in Stockport.
Reports in the Manchester Evening News said terrified staff and customers at the agency in the Merseyway shopping centre were made to lie on the floor by three masked men, one armed with a machete.
The gang threatened members of the public and staff and demanded the cash, making off in an Alfa Romeo with a ‘significant’ amount of foreign currency.
Police say the gang were wearing dark clothes and balaclavas and had local accents.
The incident happened at around 5.15pm on Friday May 27.
So far there have been no arrests.
