Princess takes delivery of its newest Star
Princess Cruises has celebrated the handover of its newest ship Star Princess at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard in Italy.
The 177,800-ton ship is the second of the line’s Sphere-class ships and has a capacity for 4,300 guests.
Princess took delivery at the handover ceremony, becoming the 17th ship in the fleet.
The ship’s maiden voyage is less than a week away when it sails round trip from Barcelona on a Mediterranean itinerary.
After a transatlantic crossing, Star Princess will offer Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale starting in early November.
The ship will later transit the Panama Canal ahead of a first summer season in Alaska in 2026.
Star Princess has 30 dining outlets and bars, The Sanctuary Collection private retreat at sea, an adults-only pool deck and more.
“This is a proud moment for Princess. This vessel is a testament to the innovation and craftsmanship of our long-standing partners at Fincantieri,” said Princess Cruises President Gus Antorcha.
