Qantas chops flights within NZ
Qantas has announced that it is suspending its 12 flights a week between Christchurch and Wellington from March because of competition and market demand.
Qantas New Zealand Regional General Manager, Grant Lilly said that flights will be suspended from March 11, 2007, and passengers booked to travel after that date will receive a full refund, adding, “Our Christchurch-Wellington services have not delivered the results we expected.”
He also said, “We have decided to concentrate on our other domestic New Zealand services which are performing more strongly.”
Qantas will continue to operate more than 220 services each week between Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown and Rotorua
