Qantas named best airline to Pacific, NZ/ Australia
Qantas has again been named Best Airline to the Pacific, New Zealand or Australia at the Travel Weekly Globe Awards in London. Qantas saw off competition from several airline nominees to claim the title for the sixth year running at the annual awards ceremony.
UK Regional General Manager Stephen Thompson collected the award and commented, “This is a fantastic achievement and is recognition of the hard work by the Qantas UK Team in an increasingly competitive market.”
He added, “Travel agents continue to play an important role in distributing our product and I i’d like to thank the Travel Industry for their continued support.”
Travel Weekly is the UK’s main travel trade newspaper and UK travel agents voted for the winners of the Globe Awards, presented across a range of categories including Best Long Haul Operator, Best Website, Best Reservation System, and Best Tourist Board.
Qantas was also nominated in the consumer category of Best Airline, voted for by readers of the Associated Newspapers Limited news group, who were headline sponsors of the event.
