Qatar Airways winging its way to Penang
Qatar Airways will start flying direct to the Malaysian island of Penang from early next year.
Historic Penang becomes Qatar Air’s second Malaysian destination when flights begin on February 6, 2018.
It will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays to and from its hub in Doha.
"Malaysia has long been one of our most sought-after destinations, and as such, we are delighted to launch a new direct service to Penang, offering our passengers a second gateway into the country," said Qatar Air Group’s CEO Akbar Al Baker.
Boeing 787 Dreamliners will be deployed on the route, with 22 seats in Business Class and 232 Economy seats.
The airline also serves Malay capital Kuala Lumpur three times a day.
