Rama latest to join Little Bali
The Little Bali Hotel & Resort Company (LBHRC) continues to attract support from the island’s smaller hotel groups.
LBHRC was launched in early November 2006 with eight founding members (in conjunction with the ‘Where the Bali hell are you?’ online viral marketing campaign).
LBHRC membership now stands at 19 following the recruitment this week of the Rama Group of Hotels which operates five properties in Kuta, Legian and Tuban.
“Unlike the larger hotels and resorts in Bali, many smaller properties have never been in a position to afford targeted PR/marketing in Australia, their key source market and one of the few markets that has been slow to recover,” said Parker-Brown.
“LBHRC offers a good, effective and very affordable means of getting the message across and having a voice in the marketplace.”
The company have also taken steps to diversify its core product in order to embrace other elements of Bali’s tourism industry.
“That has always been part of the overall strategy and we’ve already opened the door to a wider section of Bali’s tourism community,” said Parker-Brown.
“We kicked off the ‘Where the Bali hell are you?’ campaign with our focus squarely on helping the smaller operators get back on track.
“But we are obviously delighted to have the backing of Katrina Simorangkir, from Bali Weddings International and Nick Blackbeard of Sobek Bali, who joined us in January 2007.
“Both Nick and Katrina are extremely well respected both in Australia and on the Bali scene and having them on board is a huge vote of confidence in what we are trying to achieve.”
“We like to think we’ve played a small part in a re-ignition of some very positive interest in the destination.
“We also like to think we instilled the first positive international news Bali has enjoyed since the bombings, Schapelle Corby and the Bali Nine.
“But other people have been hard at work too. The ‘Bali is my life’ campaign has also helped make inroads.
“That’s been borne out with the release of figures this week showing Australian visitor figures to Bali for January 2007 increased by some 35 per cent.
“This growth has been confirmed by several LBHRC members who have indicated a strong pick-up in business from the Australian market.”
