Registration opens for ABTA’s second health and safety conference
ABTA has started taking bookings for its second International Health and Safety Conference, taking place in central London in March.
The event will bring together tour operators, hotels, accommodation providers and transport and excursion suppliers to discuss how to work collaboratively to improve health and safety standards in tourism accommodation and the wider supply chain.
Expert speakers will cover issues such as gas and fire safety, food hygiene and legionella. There will also be an opportunity to network withhoteliers and accommodation providers from across the world, said ABTA.
Key sessions will include:
- An update on the emerging health and safety issues in 2019
- How the tourism industry can work collaboratively to drivechange and improvement
- Legal responsibilities including liabilities under the Package Travel Regulations 2018 and local laws and customs
- Approaches to risk management and empowering customers to manage risk
- Reputation management during and after an incident
- Identifying and tackling health and safety risks in accommodation
Speakers wll include:
- Angela Hills, senior destinations manager, Health, Safety, Crisis and Operations, ABTA
- Dr Esteban Delgado, chairman and technical director, Preverisk
- Terry Auld, consultant, Preverisk
- Claire Mulligan, partner,Kennedys
- Vanessa Field, deputy director, National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC)
Additional speakers will be announced for the event on March 27 in due course, said ABTA.
