Review site is relaunched under new ownership

Wednesday, 18 Jun, 2012 0

The new owners of HolidayTruths.co.uk have completely relaunched the site a month after buying it.

Chris Brown and his brother Phil Brown acquired HolidayTruths.co.uk in May.

The acquisition followed Chris Brown’s departure from online travel agency Sunshine.co.uk, which he co-founded in 2007.

HolidayTruths.co.uk has undergone a total rebuild and rebranding to bring it up to date.

"The core changes have not only brought the site’s design bang up to date but have made it easier to use," said Chris Brown.

"In particular, we have focused on improving the reviews themselves with a new smart search, new accommodation pages, clearer reviews and ratings and a new, clearer destination page structure to help users efficiently navigate the site."

The Brown brothers are also introducing new user verification processes to make sure the site’s reviews remain honest and quantifiable "as opposed to a tool for businesses to promote themselves and denigrate their rivals".

The site has a new blog giving consumer-friendly travel news and advice, while updated media galleries will be easier to use once they are relaunched later this summer.

It is not the first time Chris Brown has worked on review sites. In 2003 he launched Holidaywatchdog.com, which he then sold five years later to focus on Sunshine.co.uk.
