Russian hackers take down numerous US airport websites
The websites of several of the largest airports in the US were knocked out Monday morning, in coordinated action by pro-Russian hacktivists ‘KillNet.’
It claimed responsibility for the denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, Bleeping Computer reported
Kiersten Todt, Chief of Staff of the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency said the sites were down but there is no impact to flight operations.
“Obviously, we’re tracking it, but there’s no concern about operations.”
At least 14 websites were hit including busy airports Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson, Chicago O’Hare, Denver and Orlando.
‘KillNet’claimed responsibility last week for taking US state government websites offline
A Transportation Security Administration official said it is monitoring the issue and working with airports
