Sabre rolls out big data tool for airlines
Sabre Corp. has announced the launch of Sabre Marketplace Analytics, a tool designed to let airlines keep track of GDS purchasing patterns and demand.
As a data-driven solution, airlines can drive revenue and increased yield based on trends within the Sabre Travel Network marketplace, such as readjusting fares when there is a sudden spike in demand on a specific route.
“While there has been a lot of buzz about big data over the past few years, creating meaningful customer solutions that leverage data sets at this scale is still highly complex. Sabre is at the forefront of solving some of the most challenging problems associated with big data applications,” said Greg Webb, president of Sabre Travel Network.
The tool offers visual graphs and heat maps of past shopping activity and future bookings filtered by criteria such as type of travel, length of stay and geographical region.
The company says it is able to store and display data from more than two million travel markets within Sabre’s travel marketplace.
