Sail on the world’s largest ship for £1,000

Cruises on Royal Caribbean International’s new mega-liner Freedom of the Seas will start at £1,013.

Bookings have opened for the 3,600-passenger capacity ship – the largest in the world – which makes its debut next year.

The vessel will operate year-round seven-night western Caribbean itineraries from Miami calling at Cozumel, Mexico; George Town, Grand Cayman; Montego Bay, Jamaica; and Royal Caribbean’s private destination, Labadee in Haiti.

Freedom of the Sea will be 15% bigger than Royal Caribbean’s fleet of Voyager-class ships and is due to set sail on its maiden voyage on June 4, 2006.

Royal Caribbean is to take delivery of Freedom of the Seas in late April 2006. It will be named in May, following a series of pre-inaugural previews for trade and media.

Lead-in prices start at £1,013 per person double occupancy for an inside cabin for a nine-night fly-cruise London on November 25, 2006.

Royal Caribbean says it will reveal details of “many new features” to be introduced on the ship in early May.
