Silver Airways bringing nonstop Nassau flights to Jacksonville

Florida regional carrier Silver Airways announced it will offer the first nonstop flights linking Jacksonville International Airport and Nassau, Bahamas.
 
The service kicks off on May 28, 2016 with Silver offering introductory fares of $99 all-in for bookings made through March 31.
 
The service will operate every Wednesday and Saturday with a mid-afternoon departure from Jacksonville.

"We are thrilled to be the first airline to introduce the much-requested service between Jacksonville and Nassau.  Silver has long been committed to the Jacksonville area and we appreciate the great support we receive from its community and airport," said Silver Airways CEO Sami Teittinen.  
 
Cuba is also on the radar for Silver, Teittinen said.
 
"We are also excited about Silver’s future expansion as we will soon be announcing service to many new destinations in Cuba."
 
Silver Airways also recently announced a slew of new routes to Nassau from Tampa, Fort Myers, and West Palm Beach.
