Silversea expands in Australia
Karen Christensen, regional director Australia and New Zealand for Silversea Cruises has announced several new appointments as part of the company’s business expansion in Australasia.
“We have identified Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia as offering above average growth potential for our ultra luxury cruise products, and we will be adding resources in these areas as well as supporting other States,†she said.
“We are therefore pleased to welcome Charlie Turnbull to our sales and marketing team, as business development manager for Queensland and Victoria.”
“Charlie has a decade of experience at the premium end of the luxury travel market, having most recently been director sales and marketing for Orient-Express Hotels, Trains and Cruises for Asia, Australia and New Zealand.”
“Tim West has moved into the role of Business Executive for NSW/Tasmania and SA, after five years’ experience in reservations selling the luxury Silversea product.”
“Australians represent over 15 per cent of Silversea guests worldwide, making this one of the best potential markets for further development of prestige travel,†said Christensen.
“We see this as an opportune time to build on our loyal repeat client base and relationships, at a time when travellers will be looking for quality and all inclusive fares to provide value for money.”
“We are confident our Silversea product, particularly with the addition of our new exploration vessel, Prince Albert II and our new ship Silver Spirit, due to launch late 2009, will maintain our position as the premier luxury cruise company in the minds of affluent Australian travellers,†concluded Christensen.
