Singapore to give “SilverKris” lounges global makeover
Singapore Airlines will be developing a new design concept for all of its airport lounges, the airline announced today.
Singapore-based architecture and design firm, ONG&ONG has been tapped to spearhead the overhaul, which will be part of Singapore’s over $20 million investment in its SilverKris Lounges for the next five years.
The airline said the new concept would be rolled out progressively beginning in the middle of 2013. The SilverKris Lounge at Sydney Airport will be the first in line to get the renovation, which Singapore says will better integrate the "home away from home" feeling of its in-flight service into the lounge experience.
Singapore also stated that "a mix of customers will also be involved from the initial conceptualization to the testing and evaluation of prototypes."
The airline has 15 SilverKris Lounges worldwide.
