MasterCard’s newest ambassador is Sir Nick Faldo, winner of six major championships: three Open Championships and three Masters – and more than 40 tournament victories.

The relationship will add to the company’s roster of seven world-class golf ambassadors including Ian Poulter, Graeme McDowell, Camilo Villegas, Boo Weekley, Brandt Snedeker, Harris English and five-time Open Championship winner, Tom Watson.

Alfredo Gangotena, chief marketing officer, MasterCard Worldwide, said: "Golf continues to be a passion for our cardholders and the addition of Sir Nick Faldo to the roster of brand ambassadors represents a crown jewel in our campaign."

The collaboration with Faldo is also part of MasterCard’s efforts to deliver unique experiences for World and World Elite cardholders.

Sir Nick will be leading MasterCard Legends Academy events in China and Singapore later in the year.

MasterCard’s sponsorship of golf tournaments includes the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the PGA Tour, the Champions Tour and The Open Championship.
