Ski specialist Powder White goes bust

Thursday, 06 Feb, 2024 0

Ski specialist Powder White has abruptly ceased trading, blaming the long-term effects of Covid and Brexit.

It also struggled due to the cost of living crisis, it said.

The firm started in 2003 selling ski resort accommodation and as of mid-2022 accrued losses of over £400,000.

It has been loss-making for the past five years.

“We are sorry to announce that Powder White has ceased trading,” a website message stated.

“Despite our very best efforts, we have regrettably been unable to navigate the extraordinary challenges our industry has faced over recent years.”

“This has resulted in us not being able to fulfil our obligations and guests’ ski holidays.”

The firm is ‘urgently contacting customers’ with booked ski holidays to offer them options.

“We would like to thank all our customers and suppliers who have showed us such loyalty over the last 20 years.”

“Our thanks too goes to our incredible team of staff who have supported us throughout.”

Ski Line is offering to help rescue customers’ ski holidays with alternative trips, and help with obtaining refunds, said Ski Line MD, Angus Kinloch.

“If you have been caught out by the collapse of Powder White, we can help with finding a new ski holiday.”
