Small Rhode Island looking at larger meetings
Larger conventions are expected to be attracted to Providence, R.I., with completion this month of a connection between the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and the adjacent Rhode Island Convention Center.
Another 750 renovated or new rooms are also being added. That will give the area more than 2,000 rooms within walking distance of the convention center.
The 274-room Holiday Inn Providence Downtown is also re-opening this month as the Hilton Hotel Providence.
Two other hotels opening next year include the Renaissance Providence Hotel and the 364-room Westin Providence.
