Snake bite at Disney park prompts wrongful death lawsuit

A family plan to sue Walt Disney World after a child was bitten by a snake at Animal Kingdom, which the family claims ultimately led to the death of the boy’s grandmother.
After witnessing the incident, the woman had a heart attack and died a short time later, family attorney Matt Morgan said.
According to Morgan the snake fell from a tree in October 2014 and bit the 8-year old boy and claims the snake escaped its enclosure at the park into a public recreational area.
A park representative told the News 6 media outlet the allegations ‘are an utter mischaracterization of the facts.’
Disney confirmed the boy was bitten and was treated by a park nurse, and the family then returned to the park for the rest of the day.
It was a wild, non-venomous snake and not part of the park’s animal collection, said Disney.
Morgan said the family, who have not been named, will file a formal lawsuit against Disney for injuries to the boy and wrongful death.
