Southern hospitality in Florida wins out
The “most hospitable” claim is common everywhere, but now there’s some evidence: It may be Florida.
The Sunshine State came out as the most hospitable in a national survey by Verizon Superpages.com.
The online shopping and local search site based its ratings on hotel, motel, and bed and breakfast listings. Specifically, the ratings were based on the number of listings in the “Hotels,” “Motels,” and “Bed & Breakfast” categories in the yellow pages published by Verizon Information Services in more than 1,000 locations.
Miami was No. 1 in the list, while Fort Lauderdale was No. 3, Orlando was No. 4, Clearwater was No. 5 and St. Petersburg was No. 6.
Other top ten cities were Dallas, Atlanta, Cape May-Wildwood, NJ, Denver and Portland, Oregon, tied with Vancouver, Washington.
