Spirit Airlines launching six routes from Nashville
Spirit Airlines is spreading its wings to Music City.
The budget carrier will take flight from Nashville International Airport with six routes beginning in the fall.
October 10 sees the launch of departures to Baltimore, Las Vegas, New Orleans Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando.
The sixth route to Tampa kicks off on November 5.
All routes will operate once a day.
"Nashville is one of the fastest growing cities in the country and has a lot to offer. We’re equally excited to bring our new Nashville-area guests to great destinations," said Spirit CEO Ted Christie.
Multi-talented Christie himself took to Youtube to publicize the new expansion with a guitar-strumming cover of Tim McGraw’s ‘Nashville Without You.’
Spirit now joins low fare airlines Allegiant, Frontier and Sun Country in the Nashville market.
The airport posted 13% growth in passenger traffic last year, to nearly 16 million.
