Stena Line boss takes on PSA chairmanship
Lars Olsson of Stena Line has succeeded Cunard’s Carol Marlow as the new chairman of the Passenger Shipping Association.
The announcement was made today at the PSA’s annual general meeting in London.
He will lead the PSA, which is responsible for the promotion of travel by sea and has 37 cruise and 17 ferry members, for two years.
Olsson was previously the PSA’s ferry section chairman, a position that will be taken up by Simon Johnson of P&O Ferries.
PSA director Bill Gibbons, said: “I would like to put on record our great appreciation of the work undertaken by Carol in the last two years and welcome Lars to his new position.
“For the past four years Lars has been chair of the PSA ferry section and during this time he has made a substantial contribution to the development of this sector.â€
Olsson said: “I am delighted to become the chair in the PSA’s 50th anniversary year and look forward to building on the excellent work already undertaken in promoting travel by sea, which is an integral part of the UK economy and leisure industry. The association has many great brands and I look forward to working with them in the future.â€
