Sunvil reports rise in sales for Sweden

Sunvil is reporting a 45% rise in bookings to Sweden after its currency weakened.

The operator said in the run-up to the country’s elections this weekend, the Swedish krona hit its lowest level since 2011 on Wednesday August 29.

Marketing manager Rachel Jelley said: "We’ve certainly seen the popularity of Sweden grow as a holiday spot over the past few years, but the high price of hotels, dining and entertainment has always been a factor.

“Now that the krona has fallen, British holidaymakers will have around 8% more to spend, so they are seizing the opportunity to visit Sweden and discover its many wonderful delights."

Sunvil said the bookings surge has been driven by couples looking for a mix of culture and adventure, families seeking safe, wholesome experiences and holidaymakers wanting to learn lost skills such as foraging, wilderness survival and outdoor cooking.
