Sweden gets set to host 2007 World Ski Championship
The Alpine World Ski Championships 2007 are to be held in Åre, Sweden, between February 3 and February 18, 2007. The FIS awarded the Alpine World Skiing Championships in 2002. Other candidates were Val d’Isère and Lillehammer. The 1954 World Championships were held in Åre as well.
The Alpine World Skiing Championships 2007 will be the largest winter sport event ever in Sweden with 60 nations taking part, 350 competitors, 600 hours of TV broadcasting and 400 million predicted TV viewers
