Thailand expands Europe connectivity with 5 new routes and more frequencies

Thailand will be a big hit this coming winter season with 5 new routes being launched from Europe and additional frequencies on 11 routes. Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Phuket are the main beneficiaries of these additional frequencies and routes.
The most impressive expansion program comes from leisure carrier Norse Air Atlantic. While the airline is reducing services on Europe-U.S. routes due to a weak demand (it discontinues flights from London Gatwick to Las Vegas and from Berlin and Oslo to Miami according to Ishrion Aviation), it boosts in parallel its presence in Thailand. The carrier will launch four routes as followed:
- London Gatwick-Bangkok: 4 x weekly from Oct. 26;
- Manchester-Bangkok: 1 x weekly from Nov. 26;
- Oslo-Phuket: 1 x weekly from Dec. 8;
- Stockholm-Phuket: 1 x weekly from Dec. 4;
Norse Air Atlantic is also increasing flights from Oslo to Bangkok from 3 to 4 weekly starting Dec. 3 and from Stockholm to Bangkok from 2 to 4 weekly starting Dec. 5.
Another exciting development is the arrival of Air France to Phuket. The French national carrier will offer 3 weekly frequencies from Paris CDG, starting Nov. 27.
More frequencies by European carriers
Meanwhile, beside Norse, many European carriers are boosting their frequencies to Thailand for the IATA winter season 2025/26. Six airlines already announced additional frequencies.
- Aircalin International: from 2 to 3 weekly flights Paris CDG-Bangkok from 17/11.
- Air France: from 13 to 14 weekly flights Paris CDG-Bangkok from 27/11.
- Austrian Airlines: from 7 to 14 weekly flights Vienna-Bangkok from 03/12.
- British Airways: from 3 to 6 weekly flights London LGW-Bangkok from November.
- Condor: from 5 to 7 weekly flights Frankfurt-Bangkok from 26/10.
- Condor: from 5 to 7 weekly flights Frankfurt-Phuket from 02/11.
- ITA : from 5 to 7 weekly flights Rome FCO-Bangkok from 01/12.
- KLM: from 7 to 11 weekly flights Amsterdam-Bangkok from 28/10.
Additionally, following a recent agreement between Thai Airways International and Turkish Airlines, capacity between Istanbul and Bangkok will be boosted to 42 weekly frequencies by both airlines. Newest is the launching on Dec. 10, 2025 of three weekly flights by Turkish Airlines on Istanbul-Bangkok-Phnom Penh. The Cambodian capital will be served for the first time by Turkish Airlines with flights on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Cambodia will become the seventh country served by Turkish Airlines in Southeast Asia.
