The ITB Berlin 2017 Recognized Ecuador as a sustainable Destination in Latam
Ecuador has been working to become a socially responsible and sustainable destination. During the recent edition of ITB Berlin 2017, Ecuador was recognized in this fields. In fact, it is considered a pioneer country in Latin America.
According to the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador, this is a recognition to the mind changing. The aim is to offer standard quality, sustainability, and social responsibility. This international certification is a competitive tool for the industry.
This recognition at the ITB is the result of the Ministry of Tourism effort in partnership with TourCert.
Moreover, TourCert is a worldwide recognized consultancy company specialize in evaluating:
1. Quality
2. Environment and social responsibility
3. Sustainability
4. Continue improvement process
62 Ecuadorian tourism companies passed the evaluation process. They had to attend 21 technical workshops, technical in company visits, and internal audits. After all, these stakeholders have been certified as Corporate Social Responsible (CSR).
