The Moody Blues and some brews on the high seas
The Moody Blues and some brews are on tap on new cruises announced this week for 2014.
Citing the success of its microbrew-themed cruise, Crystal Cruises has a new one for 2014, as well as four new Wine & Food-themed cruises on sailings to Asia, the South Pacific, Trans-Atlantic, and the U.S./Caribbean.
Each Experiences of Discovery cruise includes complimentary cooking classes, demonstrations, wine tastings and mixology lessons, plus an optional seven-course dinner featuring local flavors and wine pairings selected by the guest wine expert.
The microbrew-themed cruise will offer beer pairings instead of wine and craft beer sampling throughout the voyage.
"Book now" fares for the Wine & Food cruise series start at $3,515/person until October 31.
For those more interested in classic rock than classic wines, the Moody Blues will host the Moody Blues Cruise next April aboard MSC Cruises’ MSC Divina.
The five-night Caribbean cruise departs Ft. Lauderdale, FL, on April 2.
With the theme "Return to the Isle of Wight," the cruise will feature performances from several acts that performed at the 1970 Isle of Wight fest, including the Moody Blues and The Who’s Roger Daltrey.
Also on board will be The Zombies, Little River Band, Shawn Phillips and Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s Carl Palmer.
Cruise prices range from $1099 to $3099.
