Tigerair Australia adding holiday flights from Sydney, Melbourne
In order to meet demand for the peak September school holidays Tigerair Australia is beefing up its flight schedule with two added weekly services between Melbourne and the Gold Coast.
The additional flights begin on September 18.
The carrier currently flies three times a day between Melbourne and the Gold Coast daily and with the new added frequencies will offer up to four daily return services each way.
"The Gold Coast was our very first destination back in 2007 and it continues to grow in popularity, particularly over winter months as many Melbournians escape the cold," said Tigerair Australia Commercial Director Adam Rowe.
At the same time the carrier also announced more flights on the Sydney to Whitsunday Coast route.
Tigerair will operate a new year round Sunday service from October 25, 2015.
"We have already responded to strong peak period demand by adding additional flights on Mondays during school holiday periods in 2015," Rowe said.
"We are now introducing Sunday flights permanently into the new season schedule, providing nearly 19,000 additional visitor seats annually through Whitsunday Coast Airport."
The additional Melbourne – Gold Coast and Sydney to Whitsunday services are available for booking with immediate effect.
