Tourist killed in mid-air balloon collision
A Brazilian tourist has been killed and 24 other people injured after two hot air balloons crashed in mid-air in Turkey.
One balloon plunged to the ground after another crashed into it from below and caused a tear, according to the Anadolu Agency.
The passengers on board the balloons, which crashed in the Cappadocia region, are said to be mostly from Asia, Spain and Brazil.
The governor of Nevsehir province, Abdurrahman Savas, has said an elderly tourist is in a serious condition while many of those injured suffered fractured bones, reports Sky News.
The canyons and volcanic cones in the area are an attraction for tourists wanting to see them from the air.
A British tourist died in a mid-air balloon collision in the same region in 2009.
In February, a balloon fire in Egypt claimed the lives of 19 tourists, including two Britons and one UK resident.
