Travel firm scores with one of most popular Youtube adverts

On the Beach’s advert featuring a dancing, jet skiing, frisbee-throwing sandcastle was one of the most popular ads on Youtube during the key January booking period, according to Marketing Week.

It ranked the OTA’s Let’s Get you to the Beach advert in fourth place after adverts by Nationwide building society, designer Calvin Klein and Footasylum.

On the Beach, which was the only travel company to feature in the top 10, got more views for its ad than Apple for its latest iPhone X and, by this week, it had only 4,000 fewer views than Nike’s ad for its latest trainer.

Last year, a study highlighted a significant rise in the number of holidaymakers using the popular social media channel to research their trips.
