TRAVEL STOCKWATCH – Lastminute.com shares recover
Travel and tourism shares endured a difficult session yesterday as London’s main equity markets dropped.
The FTSE 100 index fell back 21.6 points to close at 4408.1, while the FTSE 250 lost some 74.8 points to end the day at 5951.8.
By far the biggest faller in the sector was lastminute.com, which dropped back 8p to 126p. The shares recovered again this morning by 10% after the announcement of third quarter results showing a marginal rise in profits. The share price yesterday was around 40 per cent of its 12-month high of 318p.
