Ex-Travelink sales director and Anite marketing director Howard Frost, has joined travel software developer Traventec

He takes up the role of sales vice-president in a move described by the company as its “first big step in building a multi-million pound business from the UK”.

He has worked in the travel sector for more than 24 years at companies including Reed Travel Group, BT/Prestel, Cygnus Computer Group and Tourplan.

Frost said: “I see huge potential for the company and I am looking forward to the challenge of growing Traventec’s business in the UK and beyond. The market out there has yet to discover the value Traventec can deliver and it is my job to facilitate this discovery.”

Traventec CEO Greg Cawley said: “The UK market forms the basis of our growth strategy over the coming years and we intend to build up a prominent sales presence supported by business analysts and technical architects to fulfil the early parts of a software project engagement.

“Howard’s professionalism, experience and relationships will play a crucial role in generating this business, and while the initial focus will be on the UK, we see potential in other European markets also.”

Traventec has operated in Ireland and Germany for more than six years serving vertically integrated groups, airlines and 25 tour operators. Customers include Amadeus, Lufthansa and Holiday Extras.

Frost’s appointment coincides with the Eyefortravel Distribution Summit in London on June 7-8 where the company is hosting a Guinness reception at its stand from 17.30 on the first day.
