TripAdvisor unveils app for Apple Watch
TripAdvisor has announced the imminent launch of its Apple Watch app.
The app gives access to TripAdvisor’s conventional reviews, ratings and photos of hotels, restaurants and attractions found on desktop and other apps along with a number of dedicated Apple Watch features.
These include ‘TripAdvisor Glance’ which offers recommendations based on real-time location via GPS and time of day.
It also offers a walking directions function which highlights a traveller’s current location and gives directions to places of interest via Apple Maps.
Travellers can also save favourite restaurants, attractions and hotels and access them at a later time on a different Apple device or on the TrpAdvisor website.
More helpful search options have been added, allowing users to filter points of interest by distance from current location between 1.5 and 10 miles.
"With the launch of the TripAdvisor Apple Watch app, users can now carry the invaluable insights of millions of travellers on their wrists," said Adam Medros, senior vice president of global product TripAdvisor.
"Whether around town or travelling somewhere new, the app helps make exploring on-the-go even more effortless."
