TUI AG finalises Royal Caribbean joint venture
TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruise have finalised plans for a joint cruise venture to serve German holidaymakers.
TUI Cruises is to launch with a single ship early next year, with sales and marketing activities soon to kick-in.
Further details of the Hamburg-based brand’s first ship are to be unveiled on April 29.
The 50-50 initiative has been put together to provide a service for German-speaking passengers seeking a “premium” cruise experience, according to a joint statement.
TUI AG CEO Michael Frenzel said: “We expect TUI Cruises to be a central player in Germany’s fast growing cruise market.”
Royal Caribbean chairman and CEO Richard Fain said: “TUI Cruises is another strategic step in our efforts to meet the growing global demand for cruising.”
