TUI doesn’t rule out job losses as part of mainstream review
TUI has not ruled out job losses as part of a review of its mainstream business.
Newly appointed deputy chief executive Johan Lundgren is to start a three-month review of the operator’s mainstream business.
When asked if the review would lead to any job cuts, a spokeswoman said: “Each managing director will continue to be responsible for their businesses and their performance including operational efficiency.
“There are already a number of significant re-structuring programmes going on in mainstream, for example in France and Germany. The UK has already undergone a major programme.
“As part of Johan’s review he will be spending time in each of the mainstream businesses to meet the management teams and assess the current position of each business which will take about 90 days.
“We already have a number of re-structuring initiatives under-way in the Sector. Johan’s review is much more around driving higher performance and aligning best practices.”
As part of the management restructure, Volker Bőttcher, managing director Central Europe, and Bart Brackx, managing director Western Europe, will now report into Lundgren.
David Burling, commercial director TUI UK & Ireland, is being promoted to managing director TUI UK & Ireland, and will continue to report into Lundgren.
