TUI reveals 2007 preliminary figures
TUI’s group turnover grew by almost 7% to €21.9 billion last year, according to its preliminary figures released today.
The company, which will publish detailed information on the 2007 financial year at its annual press briefing and analysts’ meeting on March 18, said underlying earnings by the continuing operations increased by 47% year-on-year to €616 million.
Turnover by the tourism division grew by 11% to €15.6 billion, while underlying EBITA rose by almost 14% year-on-year to €449 million.
The group said both TUI Travel and TUI Hotels and Resorts have made a positive contribution to the earnings’ increase.
But turnover by its shipping division fell slightly by 1% to €6.2 billion, while earnings (underlying EBITA) rose by 121 % to €197 million.
