TUI UK announces changes to board accountabilities
TUI UK & Ireland has confirmed changes to the UK & Ireland board accountabilities following Helen Caron’s move to TUI Group in May 2018.
Katie McAlister will broaden her current role to become sales and marketing director to ensure one coherent strategy for customer sales and brand marketing activity.
McAlister will now be accountable for the full customer strategy across TUI UK bringing the sales and customer contact channels – e-commerce, retail and contact centres alongside marketing and customer experience teams.
McAlister joined the TUI UK & Ireland board on June 1 and has spent an equal amount of time working in commercial and digital roles in her 19 year career in TUI, most recently as digital director for TUI Group.
Richard Sofer will broaden his remit and will become commercial and business development director.
Sofer will be accountable for identifying development and growth opportunities for the business alongside his current role.
Responsibility for Marella Cruises will become part of this function, with managing director Chris Hackney now reporting into Sofer.
Sofer joined TUI UK in September 2016 as MD of Thomson Cruises and became commercial director, joining the UK & Ireland board, in December 2017.
TUI UK and Ireland MD Andrew Flintham said: "The change in accountabilities for Katie and Richard allows us to increase our focus on delivering for the customer, maximise sales opportunities and improve the pace of delivery through streamlined governance.
"I’m excited about what we can achieve with this new way of working."
All the changes come into effect on September 1.
