TWA Hotel: AvGeeks just got a cool new hangout
When the inevitable polar vortex decimates flights in the Northeast, travelers now have a unique place to ride out the storm at New York’s JFK airport.
The hotly anticipated TWA Hotel will have an inviting rooftop infinity pool with panoramic views of the runways at JFK.
It also features an observation deck.
Despite New York’s notorious winter weather, it will stay open year-round thanks to temperature-controlled water that can reach 100 degrees, transforming it turn into a ‘pool-cuzzi,’ said Morse Development.

It measures 63′ X 20′ and has water which is purified every 30 minutes. It forms part of a 10,000-square-feet observation deck which overlooks not only JFK’s runways but Jamaica Bay too.
"Our rooftop pool provides a JFK runway view that rivals an air traffic controller’s vantage point. There’s simply no better place for plane-spotting — and enjoying a cocktail — in the world," said Tyler Morse, CEO and managing partner of MCR and Morse Development.
It’s not only open to hotel guests; walk-in guests can reserve a table on the rooftop, grab a cocktail and take a dip.
The entire rooftop can also be booked out for private events for up to 300 guests.
It is set to open on May 15 and hotel reservations went live earlier this year.
The TWA Hotel features six restaurants and eight bars, including a vintage plane retrofitted as a cocktail lounge.
It also claims to house the world’s largest hotel fitness center.
Room rates start at $249 per night.
