Two passengers taken to hospital after fumes seep into cabin
Two people were taken to hospital after a flight was forced to make an emergency landing when fumes filled the cabin.
JetBlue flight bound for West Palm Beach in the US landed at Raleigh-Durham International Airport after the pilot reported a mechanical issue.
The Airbus A320 landed safely, according to an airport spokesman, but six people were treated by medics and two more were taken to hospital.
Emergency services spokesman Jeffrey Hammerstein said none were serious but several people on the flight complained of headaches and a burning sensation in their eyes.
A replacement jet was laid on for passengers to complete their journey to West Palm Beach more than six hours behind schedule, the Aviation Herald reported.
Exactly what caused the mechanical issue and fumes to escape is still unclear.
