UKinbound excellence awards winners revealed
Joseph Unwin from Visit York has been awarded UKinbound’s Young Excellence Award at the association’s annual Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner, which took place last night at Aerospace Bristol.
The visitor information and sales assistant was presented his accolade by actor and comedian James Redmond, in front of an audience of over 300 tourism industry professionals.
Joseph said: "I love York and really enjoy my role in the Visitor Information Centre helping people plan their trip to York and get the best experience for their visit."
During the awards evening an additional 10 accolades were handed out to businesses that had made a significant contribution to the tourism industry over the last 12 months. These were:
- Tour Operator of the Year – Angela Shanley Associates
- Individual Attraction of the Year – Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter
- Accommodation Provider of the Year – Lake District Country Hotel
- DMO of the Year – Visit Kent
- Sightseeing Operator of the Year – City Cruises
- Service Provider of the Year: Transport – Great Western Railway
- Service Provider of the Year: Restaurants, Retail & Ticketing – Encore
- Service Provider of the Year: Professional Services – TravelBeat
- Regional Member of the Year – Brilliant Tours
- Chairman’s Award – Ashley Jones, director of sales UK & Ireland, Vox Group
The Awards for Excellence were presented during the association’s annual convention, which took place at the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel on February 5 and 6.
