United Airlines partners with Spotify
United Airlines is teaming up with streaming music app Spotify to boost in-flight entertainment options.
United Airlines fliers will be able to listen to curated Spotify playlists, audiobooks and video podcasts directly from their seatback screens.
The partnership goes live this week.
It is the first time Spotify has offered video and audiobook content in-flight.
“Spotify has a huge audience and people love their content. And now our customers can enjoy it all in a simple and easy way,” said Richard Nunn, CEO of loyalty program MileagePlus.
“Together, we’re giving millions of customers an entirely new way to experience and explore premium content.”
United said from next year, passengers will have the option to use Spotify via their personal devices.
“The collaboration brings the Spotify experience fans know and love to the skies, so passengers can stream their favorite playlists, podcasts, and audiobooks,” Spotify said.
