United inks codeshare partnership with ITA Airways
United Airlines has inked a transatlantic codeshare pact with Italy based ITA Airways.
The codeshare agreement goes live next week and allows customers of both airlines to combine flights on a single flight reservation.
Starting from 15 September, ITA’s code is added to selected flights including Dallas, Denver, Honolulu, Houston and Newark.
United’s UA code will be added to ITA’s domestic services to Florence, Catania, Turin and more via Rome Fiumicino, and connecting with United’s transatlantic services.
“Through this partnership, we are strengthening our presence in the US market,” said ITA Airways CEO and general manager Joerg Eberhart.
The agreement also enables reciprocal loyalty point earning and redemption opportunities and access to airline lounges.
