Universal Studios Japan closes again
Universal Studios Japan has been forced to close again as Japan enacts a new state of emergency.
It will stay closed indefinitely as Osaka, where the park is located, Tokyo and Kyoto and Hyogo prefectures go into a mini lockdown with bars, restaurants and other facilities closed.
The state of emergency is set to last until at least 11 May.
"We sincerely apologize for causing any inconvenience. Detailed instructions regarding previously purchased tickets will be listed on our official website," the park said in a press release.
It includes the new Super Nintendo World which only had its grand opening a few weeks ago.
With the Tokyo Olympics just weeks away, the central government is hoping these restrictions will help contain infections by limiting travel during the busy Golden Week holidays.
These are ‘short and intensive’ measures to ‘temporarily halt the flow of people’ said Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga.
